A New Beginning
Coming to a new school is never really easy. 348 new students now wander the high school campus. three of the freshman are, Zach Vandermer, Devin Prejean, and Will Rernell are all new to this school.
Freshman years seems to be the hardest of them all. They have to get themselves established, and make new friends. Zach Vandermer has had a rough start to begin with. With all of the freedom at at school he has found it hard just to fit in with everyone. Vandermer said, "I practically just stay by myself because the students aren't that welcoming." People around the school hasn't made it easy for him to fit in. His red polo shirt and his ripped blue wrangler jeans are just like the rest of the students at school wear, but people just make him see different. While in conference with Vandermer he said, "The friends that I do have are treated like the outcast of the school and they look at us like we aren't even human."
Devin Prejean is a Freshman that came form a small middle school. He lives in Arundel which is next to Kennebunk, and Biddeford. Prejean loves the freedom he receives and the trust that the faculty has in him to let him wonder among the halls and outside in the campus. Prejean found it hard to get himself situated at first. "I really don't know who likes me since I'm a freshman but I do have some friends," Prejean said.
Some freshman thrive for a new beginning, Will Renell is one of those students. With the campus giving him a college feel. It allows him to roam freely unlike his old middle school. "It feels like I am trusted, and allowed to be who I want to be here at school," Renell said.
