Rights For Girls Around The World

Cambodia
is pin pointed to be the other side of the world from the United States. We may
have been on the same map for centuries, but while things in the United States
have changed for education for girls, in Cambodia the girls have never once
been able to enjoy the books of wisdom. There are many reasons for why young
girls are not permitted to go to school.
Girls
from around the United States get to enjoy the freedom of being able to go to
school and receive an education while other girl from the other side of the
world in Cambodia have to go to work and do house chores instead of learning.
From ages when they can start to walk all girls begin to have a purpose in
their culture. From washing clothes on washboards, to getting water from
waterspouts, to going to work while the men get an education.
Stats
have shown that in 2003 only 22 percent of Cambodian people could read
newspaper articles or even write a simple letter, while in the United States in
2003, 81 percent of Americans know how to write and read both.
In
every country everything should be the same weather the place is rich or poor.
Education is what will make the world go round and get places out of debit
later on in the future. Every human is capable of containing knowledge that
will help him or her in the long run. It may not be the same in every place
around the world, but in the United States in order to sometimes get a good
paying job a college degree is crucial in many parts.
UNICEF
is a huge fundraiser that collects money to help send children to school so they
can get an education. Since this has been created millions of dollars have been
collected to go towards education around the world. Cambodia receives a lot of
the profits. As a donor of a lot of money it makes you feel absolutely amazing
that you had done something for an amazing cause for some people that are less fortunate
then you are. It begins to give you a whole new perspective and an outlook on
everything.
Not many people especially
kids, realize how much a cent could go towards or the freeeducation that they do receive in the United States that there are kids from a different place just on the other side of the world that would kill to have the life that you live. Make the best of everything
and never take anything for granted because others would cherish it for a lifetime.
